How does it work?

How long can I stay in Thailand without a visa?

Since 15 September 2026, citizens of 60 countries and territories, including all EU countries, the UK, the USA and Australia, can stay in Thailand visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days per entry. Before that, the limit was 60 days. Some nationalities get 15 days or need a visa, and bilateral agreements can give other periods.

How does the calculator count the 30 days?

Each visit starts on the day you enter Thailand; that day counts as day 1. For example, entry on 10 January means departure by 8 February. Entry and exit days count as days in Thailand. Stays that follow each other without a day outside Thailand are treated as one visit. The date given by the immigration officer at entry is what counts.

Can I extend the 30 days?

An extension of up to 30 days can usually be requested at an immigration office in Thailand; approval is up to the authorities and a fee applies. For longer stays, a tourist visa or another visa is the better option. When entering over land, the 30-day exemption can generally be used only twice per calendar year.

What happens if I overstay in Thailand?

Overstaying costs a fine of 500 baht per day, up to 20,000 baht. Longer overstays can lead to detention, deportation and a re-entry ban of one to ten years. Plan your departure date in time.
